At my Core

Cathy Benton - At My Core
I am not for everyone.
I was never meant to be.
To preserve what time tries to erase.
To gather the fleeting,
To honor the ordinary until it becomes extraordinary .
I don’t create to impress.
I create to immortalize.
A laugh. A gaze. A bond. A legacy.
This is not photography.
This is remembrance.
My tenderness is earned.
My honesty is loving, but unflinching.
I do not sugarcoat beauty—
I reveal it.
Even when it hides behind grief,
Even when it’s buried in silence.
I am a matriarch of memory.
A protector of craft.
A nurturer with steel in her spine.
I believe in excellence, not shortcuts.
Truth, not trends.
Connection, not clicks.
I build what doesn’t exist—
Because waiting has never been my style.
Because legacy can’t wait.
I am here for the deep work.
The quiet tears.
The generations who will one day look at my work and say,
“This is where we came from. This is who we were.”
And still—
I remain open.
Curious.
Unyielding in love.
Unapologetic in purpose.
This is who I am.
At my core.
No sugar.
Only truth.
