It’s terribly flattering when I hear that someone tells my client “Oh wow.  Cathy Benton.  She’s really good.”

It’s hard for me to even write those words.  As an artist, I don’t think we ever think we are quite good enough.  My usual response is something like “it took me 30 years to build a reputation like that” – when all I really want to say is “what a wonderful compliment.  I hope I can live up to that. ;-)”

It did take 30 years.  But it wasn’t only a reputation I wanted to build.  I wanted to give a piece of my heart to each client I had the honor of photographing.  I study my clients and the world. Each time I step behind the camera – my skill comes with an enormous amount of observation and my personal feeling about that particular session.  I truly, always wanted to be the household name that represented graciousness, genuineness and love when people see the images I’ve created over time.

It may have been many years of learning that brought me here but every time I create my art for clients my thoughts are “I hope I can live up to that reputation again – this time.”
