Jeweled Line of Portraits
Cathy is always coming up with something new and exciting for her clients. Recently she developed a “Jeweled line” of portraits that is beautiful and exclusive to her studio.
What is a “Jeweled line” portrait? After Cathy creates the portrait she personally handles all the artistic finishing including adding Swarovski Crystal Elements jewels to the surface of the canvas print. You really have to see it to appreciate it. When the light in your home bounces off these crystals it is amazing.
It is handcrafted and customized portraits like this that has made Cathy’s photographic art as must have to all those looking for exquisite timeless personal art for the home.
We currently have two of these portraits on display at the studio. Cathy would love to create a unique piece of art work for you. Why not be the first in your circle of friends to have such a unique portrait in your home? Give us a call to find out the details. It’s very exciting and we know it is going to be a “must have” for every family in Tidewater.

I recently had the opportunity to photograph a high school senior who I photographed for the first time when he was just a little boy. As I was editing the images, I was reminded of a poem and I thought I’d share it with you.
I think about this nearly everyday – you see my son is now in his twenties and it’s hard to believe how fast time has gone by. I hope you enjoy these words.
”If I had my child to raise over again”
By Diana Loomans
If I had my child to raises over again…
I’d finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I’d do less correcting and more connecting.
I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes
I’d care to know less, and know to care more.
I’d take more hikes and fly more kites.
I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I’d run through more fields, and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more hugging and less tugging.
I’d be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I’d build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I’d teach less about the love of power, and more about the power of love.
It matters not whether my child is big or small,
From this time forward, I’ll cherish it all.

Beautiful sky for senior session
Sometimes we get luck with the most beautiful environment to work in. This would certainly explain why outdoor senior sessions in the fall are so popular. No only do we get lucky with colorful leaves in the trees but we also get the most awesome skies you have ever seen.
Sydney was a joy to work with. She even brought her friend Lauren for the outdoor session. We had a blast.
You just want stop for a minute to take in all the beauty of this image – the sky and the young lady – now a high school senior.
Take a peek at the rest of Sydney’s session

I Believe….
Two people can look at the exact same
Thing and see something totally different.
Who would ever have guessed that when I photographed this young lady nearly 19 years ago that I’d still be here when she was reaady for her photographs? I know that was my plan but you know what happens to plans sometimes.
It was such a pleasure to see her parents again and to work with Kathryn again. They have been living out of state but made the trip for pictures. We did a high school seniore session coveratge for her and I can’t wait for she and her parents to see them all.
Kathryn is just as beautiful now as she was way back then. Congratulation Katheryn.
