Someday if you are patient enough…
The holidays are not happy for everyone. Especially those who are alone but do not want to be. I guess I think about the young people I see today that are in their mid to late 20’s and how hard it can seem for them to find someone special. Gosh, I remember when I was that age wonderingand asking “am I ever going to find someone to spend the rest of my life with? Is there someone out there for me?”
Oh yes, I AM a big time romantic, an optimistic romantic. I believe there is someone for everyone. I also believe sometimes that a special person can come into our lives and we don’t even know it until something happens and they are suddenly gone. I also know it is those special people who have crossed our path in life that reminds us “there is someone out there for us”
Having special friends can be a blessing in disguise also. They can be just as important as having a significant other to share our lives with. You may even be one of those special friends to someone else.
Don’t underestimate the power of kindness, caring and loving people. Your simple caring touch or tender word can help someone through tough times. You may not be aware of someone’s struggles – if they are anything like a lot of people I know – they will keep it well hidden – so why not just assume that every person you meet could use a kind word and a smile? Why not? It’s such a little thing that can do so much good.
Be a friend to someone today – you may change their lives – or even save their lives – especially during the holidays. Sometimes just being willng to listen to someone can mean so very much. And remember – something my dad always said – “honey you have to be a friend before you’ll ever have a friend”. I am grateful for the friends in my life – those still here with us and those who have passed. I am a better person because of them.
I ran across this little quote on Pinterest and am sharing it with you. Maybe it’ll lift your spirits – or perhaps you can share it with someone else who needs it. Either way, it is my attempt to reach out and touch someone with a kind word – and if you look closely (with your heart) between the lines – I’m also sending you a warm and encouraging smile.
