Looking into the future
I’m sure it’s all been written about before, what type of equipment a photographer uses, what products do they offer you, how much time do they spend with you, how much do they charge, and on and on and on . But from my 18+ years as a professional photographer, my advice to my own daughter getting married would be this…when choosing a professional photographer for your wedding day -connecting with you and your dreams and ideas is more important that the equipment they use or what services they offer or the price they charge.
Anyone can buy a professional camera and learn how to use it and take a few good pictures – really anyone. However that does not guarantee your day will be captured with your story.
Ultimately, if a wedding photographer sees your wedding as “just another wedding” it will end up looking like “just another wedding. Your wedding can be unique and traditional, unique and contemporary – or whatever YOUR dream is of what your wedding should be and the best photographers share in that dream with you! It’s hard to put a price on imagination, creativity, sensitivity and quality. But easy to put a price on a mediocre job done poorly with no expression or feeling or romance or fun.
